About the Role
This role combines both pre-sales and post-sales activities in support of our customers and sales team. You will join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to delivering a high level of technical support, primarily assisting colleagues and customers across the UK and Nordics, while also supporting the wider European region when required.

An interest in product physics and mechanical and electrical measurement technologies (including Electrical Power Testing, Strain, Force, and Torque) is essential. Knowledge and understanding of the following areas would be highly desirable:
- Electrical and mechanical measurements, both theoretical and practical
- Signal analysis, both theoretical and practical
- Electrical Power Testing, Strain, Force, and Torque applications
- Test and measurement techniques
- An interest in training and educating customers on measurement technologies and the effective use of our applications
The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation suited to a customer-facing application support role and will be based either in our Royston, UK office or our Virum, Denmark office. Other locations within the UK may be considered depending on experience.
The role involves providing active technical support to both Hottinger Brüel & Kjær personnel and customers, primarily across the UK and Nordics, with additional support across the wider EMEA region when required. Initially, support activities will be delivered mainly remotely; however, some travel will be expected following the training and ramp-up period.

The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and effectively use our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
Eligibility Requirement
This role involves work on secure UK and EU defence sites. Therefore, candidates will need to meet the eligibility requirements typically associated with access to such sites, including holding UK or EU nationality and satisfying any applicable security and site access requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide active customer support during both pre-sales and post-sales activities, on-site and remotely
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of quotations and tenders
- Work closely within the EMEA Sales Support Team and collaborate with colleagues in R&D, Sales, and Product Management
- Qualify and assess technical customer requests in partnership with the Sales Team
- Record, track, and follow up on technical requests using our CRM system
- Collaborate across multiple departments, including Sales, R&D, and Product Marketing, to provide timely and accurate customer responses
- Support exhibitions, trade shows, and customer events as required
Qualifications / Skills
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of Electrical Quantities and Electrical Power Testing
- Additional knowledge of Sound, Strain, Force, Torque, and Vibration measurement technologies would be advantageous
- Understanding of the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical measurements
- Knowledge of Signal Analysis principles would be beneficial
- Hands-on application knowledge within electrical and mechanical measurement environments is highly desirable
- Enjoy solving technical challenges and providing customer-focused support while working collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, including MS Office and internet-based applications
- Ability to adapt and perform effectively within a changing business environment
- Project management experience within Sound & Vibration applications would be an advantage
- Fluent English language skills; additional European language skills are a plus
- Strong analytical skills with a customer-oriented approach to problem solving
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Following the training and ramp-up period, some travel will be required
