Application Engineer - Financial Services - London/Hybrid - Permanent - up to £70,000 base (dependent on experience)
The Company
twentyAI are partnering with a leading Financial Services organisation who are looking to recruit an experienced Application Engineer to join a growing Technology team. With a strong national presence and 20+ offices across the UK and Channel Islands, they are a FTSE 250 company investing heavily in their technology estate and digital capabilities.
The Role
This is an Application Engineer role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day support, maintenance and continuous improvement of business-critical applications. You will act as a technical SME across a portfolio of applications, ensuring services remain secure, resilient and available while working closely with Technology teams, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers.

Your responsibilities
- Supporting business-critical applications within agreed service levels and operational standards.
- Investigating, diagnosing and resolving incidents and service requests through to resolution.
- Performing root cause analysis and proactively identifying opportunities to improve application reliability.
- Supporting application changes, releases and the transition of new services into production.
- Monitoring application performance, availability and health, improving observability and alerting.
- Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce operational effort.
- Maintaining technical documentation, runbooks and operational procedures.
- Working closely with stakeholders, project teams and suppliers to deliver effective application support.

Skills
- Experience supporting enterprise applications within a production environment.
- Strong incident, problem and change management experience.
- Good understanding of ITIL and service management principles.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with application monitoring, alerting and operational support tools.
- Knowledge of automation, scripting or continuous service improvement.
- Experience working with technical teams, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
- Experience working within financial services
- Desirable: ServiceNow, SQL, scripting, automation or operational resilience experience.
