About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring Application Engineering Director to lead our global Power MOSFET Application Engineering organization. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for two highly skilled teams:

  • Product Definition Engineers (PDE)
  • Customer Application Engineers (CAE)

You will drive the definition and successful deployment of Nexperia's Automotive and Industrial Power MOSFET portfolio, ensuring that customer requirements, market trends, and technology capabilities are translated into competitive products and outstanding customer support.

As a member of the Product Group leadership team, you will work closely with Marketing, R&D, Quality, Sales, Operations, and major global customers to shape future product roadmaps while ensuring excellent technical execution.

What you will do

Leadership & Organization

  • Lead, develop, and coach global teams of Product Definition Engineers and Customer Application Engineers.
  • Build a high-performing, customer-focused engineering organization with strong technical expertise and execution excellence.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Define engineering priorities, resource allocation, and capability development.

Product Definition & Portfolio Development

  • Translate customer and market requirements into clear product specifications.
  • Drive technical product definition from concept through production release.
  • Ensure new products meet customer expectations for performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Influence future technology roadmaps together with Product Management and R&D.

Customer Application Engineering

  • Lead technical customer engagement for strategic Automotive and Industrial customers.
  • Support design-in activities, customer escalations, and complex technical problem solving.
  • Build strong relationships with key OEMs and Tier-1 customers.
  • Ensure fast and high-quality technical support throughout the customer lifecycle.

Cross-functional Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Design Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Sales.
  • Represent Application Engineering in business reviews, product planning, and strategic customer discussions.
  • Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, product definition methodology, and customer support.

Experience

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • Several years of people leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong experience in Power MOSFETs, power semiconductors, or related power electronics technologies.
  • Experience working with Automotive and/or Industrial customers.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional and international projects.
