About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer with strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills to join our dynamic security team. In this role, you will work closely with our web development teams to embed security best practices into all web-based applications. Your primary focus will be on offensive security testing, including penetration testing, reverse engineering, and vulnerability assessments, to identify and mitigate security risks early in the development lifecycle. You will serve as a bridge between security and engineering, providing expert guidance on secure coding practices, influencing architecture and design decisions, and ensuring that security is integrated into every stage of software development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in web application security and offensive security testing.
  • Hands-on expertise in penetration testing and reverse engineering techniques.
  • Deep understanding of modern web security vulnerabilities such as XSS, CSRF, SQL Injection, and their mitigation strategies.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript with practical experience in TypeScript highly desirable.
  • Ability to write, review, and understand production-quality code.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Pragmatic approach to security challenges with a focus on practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on web applications to identify security weaknesses.
  • Conduct reverse engineering of malicious code and security exploits to understand attack vectors.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement security best practices and secure coding standards.
  • Review and analyze code to identify potential security flaws and recommend improvements.
  • Influence architecture and design decisions by providing security guidance during the development process.
  • Develop and maintain security testing tools and scripts to automate vulnerability detection.
  • Stay updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
  • Assist in incident response and remediation efforts related to web security incidents.
