Product Support – Application Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated Product Support – Application Specialist to join a central technical team supporting high-profile diagnostic laboratory accounts across the South Wales region. This field-based position is ideal for a Biomedical Scientist, Clinical Specialist, or Diagnostics Support Professional eager to play a pivotal role in delivering both proactive and reactive technical support, workflow optimization, and system implementations.
In this role, you will work with state-of-the-art diagnostic systems, focusing primarily on automated clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyzers, as well as pre- and post-analytical workflow solutions. Full comprehensive training will be provided to help you expand your expertise into advanced Molecular and Tissue Diagnostic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation & Installation: Provide hands-on technical support during new system installations, go-live phases, and platform upgrades in hospital and private pathology laboratories.
- User Training: Conduct structured training sessions for Biomedical Scientists and laboratory staff on system operation, software modifications, and routine maintenance.
- Reactive & Proactive Support: Act as a key technical contact to troubleshoot analytical, operational, and software issues efficiently.
- Workflow Optimisation: Consult with laboratory managers to evaluate current operations, design streamlined workflows, and execute analytical reviews.
- Commercial & Technical Collaboration: Support cross-functional teams during product demonstrations, tender responses, and third-party integration consults.

Candidate Requirements
Background & Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Strong background in medical diagnostics, pathology, or clinical laboratory practices (NHS or private sector).
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting automated diagnostic equipment and laboratory software (e.g., LIMS).
- Education: Background in Biomedical Science, Clinical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Licensing: Valid UK Driving License and Passport (Essential due to travel requirements).
