A look into the role:

Henderson Wholesale Information Services Department currently employs over 45 Technical IT Specialists covering the areas of Software Development, Project Management, Network Infrastructure, and Application and Technical Support.

We are responsible for the software development and support of over 70 in-house and third-party systems which ensures the successful operation of our Wholesale business. As such we now seek to recruit an Application Support Analyst to help our business users by providing application support for our productions software solutions which are either on premise or cloud based.

  • Investigate technical application issues escalated by the 1st Line Helpdesk
  • Analyse and debug code to identify the root cause
  • Resolve technical issues by fixing software bugs or escalating to Core Development Team
  • Investigate data discrepancies and queries from Business Users
  • Proactively analyse issues and call trends to prevent reoccurrence
  • Liaise with Third Party application providers for assistance on call resolution where required
  • Provide detailed and concise root cause analyse of issue with steps to resolve
  • Monitor systems and react proactively to alerts
  • Make decisive and appropriate business decisions to reduce or prevent application downtime

Skills for Success

Joining us as Application Support Analyst, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an Application Support role or Development role.
  • Experience of relational database management systems
  • Knowledge of SDLC process and methodologies
  • Willing to learn new Technologies and has the enthusiasm to learn quickly on the job
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The attributes you’ll need include:

  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills

It is desirable if you have:

  • A third-level IT or industry-specific qualification or equivalent
  • Experience with Linux/Unix, SQL Server, SharePoint and/or Business Intelligence Applications

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. After-Hours On Call Cover required on a Rota Basis. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
