Job Overview
We are looking for a proactive and technically minded Application Support Analyst to join our IT team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting application issues, supporting users, investigating incidents, and working with technical teams to maintain reliable business applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application support to internal users and business teams.
- Troubleshoot application errors, access issues, performance problems, and system incidents.
- Log, prioritise, investigate, and resolve incidents in line with agreed SLAs.
- Perform root-cause analysis and escalate complex issues to development or infrastructure teams.
- Monitor application availability, performance, and system alerts.
- Support application deployments, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Use SQL queries to investigate application and database-related issues.
- Analyse system logs and error messages to identify potential causes.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work with developers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Participate in testing and validation of application fixes and enhancements.
- Identify recurring incidents and recommend preventative solutions.
- Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Provide clear and professional communication to users throughout the support lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in Application Support, IT Support, Technical Support, or Systems Support.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience supporting business applications in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with application logs, monitoring tools, and incident investigation.
- Experience using ticketing or IT service management systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar.
- Understanding of ITIL principles and incident management.
- Good knowledge of Windows environments and basic networking concepts.
- Ability to understand technical issues and communicate solutions clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple incidents and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of APIs, REST services, JSON, or web technologies.
- Experience with PowerShell or basic scripting.
- Exposure to CI/CD, application deployment, or DevOps environments.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and application performance management.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting ERP, CRM, finance, HR, or other enterprise applications.
