Application Support Analyst – SQL Server
Remote | £30,000 – £35,000 + Benefits
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Support Analyst to join an established software business specialising in debt collection, credit control and ledger management solutions.
Working remotely, you’ll provide 1st and 2nd line application support to customers, investigating issues, resolving technical queries and supporting software deployments across test and live environments.
The Role
- Provide 1st and 2nd line application support via telephone, email and ticketing systems.
- Investigate application and data issues using T-SQL, validating fixes and producing ad-hoc reports.
- Deploy, configure and upgrade software across test and live environments, including IIS, Windows Services and SQL Server.
- Carry out root cause analysis and contribute to problem management.
- Work directly with customers to resolve complex defects and technical issues.
- Support pre-release testing and produce user guides and technical documentation.
- Ensure service levels are met and deliver a high standard of customer service.

The Person
- At least 2 years’ application support experience.
- Strong T-SQL skills and hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016 or later.
- Confident communication skills, with a professional telephone manner and clear written communication.
- Experience or an interest in taking ownership of software deployments and release processes.
- Able to work independently from home and undertake occasional out-of-hours work when required.

Desirable experience:
- Supporting applications hosted on-premise and in the cloud.
- Production software deployments.
- Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Storage Accounts, Queues, Managed Databases and Service Bus.
- HTTP APIs, C# or VB.NET, and SSRS.
The Package
- Salary of £30,000 – £35,000, depending on experience.
- Fully remote working.
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm.
- Paid overtime for out-of-hours deployments.
- Structured training in deployment and release processes.
- Pension.
- 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days with length of service.
