Shift pattern: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

We make health happen

Working in our UK support functions you’ll play a key part in helping our customer facing colleagues deliver exceptional standards of customer service and patient care. No matter your role, you’ll have an opportunity to do work that matters. Making a difference to the lives of our customers each and every day.

Role Overview

The purpose of the Application Support Developer is to ensure an exceptional customer experience for Bupa Global’s IT system users by swiftly and effectively responding to and resolving IT Incidents, Events, Requests and queries. You will also be expected to develop code, according to project / business requirements, and/or ensure that our third parties do.

The role holder will be the technical expert supporting the rest of the I.T. Team. This includes investigating and resolving complex, challenging and urgent IT issues and opportunities; along with ensuring other developers are writing code according to the business need.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Responsible for being the technical authority within your domains and keeping your own skills current.
  • Help train colleagues on technologies, where there is a lack of knowledge.
  • Help design solutions and, together with third parties, ensure all code is built securely, performant, and to specification.
  • Resolve IT Incidents and Events, observing operational priority, impact and SLAs, in a timely manner, escalating where appropriate.
  • Work on different systems, and issues, beyond own expertise; whilst maintaining quality of service.
  • Focus on root cause analysis and resolution for re-occurring Incidents and Events and make long term recommendations and fixes.
  • Complete IT Requests in an effective manner, by understanding the true business requirement, outcome and suitable technical solutions.
  • Recommend opportunities to IT management to improve the overall IT strategy and value of IT to Bupa Global.
  • On-boarding assigned new IT systems into the Production Services function, acting as the interface with Projects and Vendors and, where appropriate, being embedded in major change projects and programmes; ensuring delivered services are supportable (appropriate monitoring & alerting, tooling, reliability).
  • Take part in implementation and change control activities.
  • Deliver timely and appropriate communication to stakeholders and internal customers, providing acknowledgement and effective updates.
  • Act as a single Bupa Global IT function, supporting systems and colleagues across the Market Unit.
  • Work in partnership with in-sourced and outsourced IT service providers, including Global IS&T and overseas based IT support managed service functions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
