About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Application Support Engineer to join our client's dynamic team based in Fareham, Hampshire. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about technical support, problem-solving, and client interaction. As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical business applications, ensuring their optimal performance and availability. Qualifications

  • Proven commercial experience in application or software support, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and JSON.
  • Experience working with IIS and SQL Server databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work under pressure to meet SLAs.

Highly desirable qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, understanding of APIs, experience with tools like Postman or XMLSpy, and familiarity with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support by troubleshooting and resolving application issues within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage client tickets from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, business analysts, and developers to understand issues and implement fixes.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, delivering excellent customer service and technical guidance.
  • Gather requirements for system changes, including Requests for Change (RFCs), and support their successful delivery.
  • Test, document, and support application updates to ensure stability and performance.
  • Assist with debugging and implementing improvements, with training provided as needed.
  • Contribute to team development initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance support processes and tools.
