About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Application Support Engineer to join our client's dynamic team based in Fareham, Hampshire. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about technical support, problem-solving, and client interaction. As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical business applications, ensuring their optimal performance and availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application support, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting, resolving issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and stakeholders. Qualifications
- Proven commercial experience in application or software support, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and JSON.
- Experience working with IIS and SQL Server databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new skills and technologies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work under pressure to meet SLAs.
Highly desirable qualifications include:
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, understanding of APIs, experience with tools like Postman or XMLSpy, and familiarity with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support by troubleshooting and resolving application issues within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manage client tickets from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, business analysts, and developers to understand issues and implement fixes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, delivering excellent customer service and technical guidance.
- Gather requirements for system changes, including Requests for Change (RFCs), and support their successful delivery.
- Test, document, and support application updates to ensure stability and performance.
- Assist with debugging and implementing improvements, with training provided as needed.
- Contribute to team development initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance support processes and tools.
