Oracle FLEXCUBE Application Support Engineer
London - Hybrid
Banking / Financial Services
We are supporting a well-established international bank in the appointment of an Oracle FLEXCUBE Application Support Engineer to join its London technology team. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for supporting the bank's Oracle FLEXCUBE core banking environment, ensuring the stability, availability and performance of critical banking applications.
The successful candidate will have direct experience working with Oracle FLEXCUBE in a production environment, alongside strong Oracle database, SQL/PLSQL and Unix/Linux skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 application and production support for Oracle FLEXCUBE and associated banking applications.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, application errors and system performance issues.
- Support EOD/BOD and batch processing, identifying and resolving failed or delayed processes.
- Use Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to investigate application and database issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement appropriate fixes and preventative measures.
- Support application releases, upgrades, patches and production deployments.
- Monitor application availability, performance and interfaces with downstream/upstream systems.
- Work with infrastructure, database, development and business teams to resolve technical issues.
- Liaise with Oracle and other third-party vendors where required.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and support runbooks.
- Participate in change, incident and problem management processes.

Key Requirements
- Hands-on Oracle FLEXCUBE / FCUBS experience is essential.
- Previous experience in application support or production support within a banking environment.
- Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Experience working with Unix/Linux environments.
- Good understanding of core banking processes and production operations.
- Experience supporting batch processing and EOD/BOD cycles.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience with application releases, upgrades and production deployments.

Advantageous Experience:
- Experience with Oracle WebLogic, shell scripting, Autosys/Control-M, SWIFT, REST APIs or other Oracle Banking applications/modules would be advantageous.
