Application Support Engineer
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + up to 15% bonus + profit share scheme
Location: Central Bristol - 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH
Type: Permanent
We’re looking for an Applications Support Technician to join an established IT Applications team within a global company, supporting a broad portfolio of business-critical systems and applications.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining day-to-day application support with troubleshooting, system improvements, and project work. You’ll take ownership of application issues through to resolution, working closely with internal users, wider IT teams, and third-party suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across a range of enterprise and business applications
- Investigate and resolve application incidents, faults, and performance issues
- Troubleshoot issues across applications, databases, and supporting infrastructure
- Work with third-party suppliers to manage escalations through to resolution
- Support application upgrades, implementations, rollouts, and enhancements
- Assist with application configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and the overall support service
- Work closely with colleagues across IT and the wider business

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within Application Support, Applications Analysis, Business Systems Support, or a similar role
- Experience supporting enterprise or business-critical applications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to SQL / SQL Server and an understanding of databases
- Good knowledge of Microsoft including 365 and Active Directory / Entra ID
- Experience working within an incident/service management environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
