Applications Specialist
Location: Worcestershire (Hybrid, split between home and office)
Salary: £46,500 - £50,000
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
I'm currently partnering with a well-established, values-driven organisation that's looking to add an Applications Specialist to its growing technology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a diverse portfolio of enterprise applications, improving business-critical systems and supporting large-scale technology initiatives. You'll play an important role in ensuring applications remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose while working alongside technical teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
The Role
You'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing a range of enterprise applications that are fundamental to day-to-day business operations. Alongside providing third-line support, you'll contribute to system upgrades, new implementations and continuous improvement projects, helping to optimise performance and deliver an excellent user experience.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 3rd line support for business-critical applications.
- Configuring and maintaining enterprise applications to meet changing business needs.
- Leading or supporting application upgrades, migrations and implementation projects.
- Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, functionality and usability.
- Working with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Supporting change management activities to ensure successful system releases.
- Maintaining compliance with governance, security and data protection requirements.
- Assisting with audits, risk assessments and application documentation.
- Collaborating with developers, infrastructure teams and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
What they're looking for
- Previous experience supporting enterprise business applications.
- Strong SQL skills, including querying and manipulating data.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, middleware or connected systems.
- Experience using IT service management platforms such as Jira or Helix.
- Knowledge of Windows Server administration.
- Understanding of authentication methods, role-based access control and security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
