ION SME - £900 Per Day - 12 Months – London (Hybrid) – Investment Banking
Overview:
A leading Investment Banking organisation is currently seeking an experienced ION SME to join their Front Office Information Systems team. This role will provide specialist support across the Fixed Income trading environment, working closely with trading desks, technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver robust trading solutions and enhancements.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting a live ION Trading environment within an Investment Bank, with strong knowledge of Fixed Income markets, electronic trading workflows, market connectivity and production support.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist support for the ION Trading platform across Fixed Income trading desks, including Rates, Credit and Swaps.
- Work closely with global stakeholders to deliver and support trading solutions across proprietary systems, vendor platforms and third-party components.
- Provide L3 production support for Fixed Income trade flows from execution through to downstream systems.
- Support trading desks, sales teams, back-office functions and technology teams with complex ION-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the ION environment, ensuring minimal disruption to front-office trading activities.
- Coordinate, plan and execute system changes across production environments, vendor platforms and connected systems.
- Support market connectivity across trading venues including MTS, BrokerTec, Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, iSwap, Tradition and Eurex.
- Configure supported applications in line with approved functional requirements across project delivery and production support activities.
- Support end-to-end Fixed Income trading processes including quoting, execution, electronic trade confirmations, settlement and downstream processing.
- Maintain production and disaster recovery environments, ensuring systems remain fit for purpose.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimise system performance and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with project teams, developers, infrastructure teams and business users to deliver enhancements and new functionality.

Technical Requirements:
- Extensive experience supporting a live ION Trading environment within an Investment Bank.
- Strong experience supporting Fixed Income trading desks, with knowledge of Rates, Credit or Swaps products.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, Fixed Income products and front-office trading workflows.
- Proven experience providing technical support across ION components including: ION Platform, MMI, MDATA, Pricing (PXE), Connectivity, Ticketing, Position & Risk, Trading Tools, RFP Gateways / STP Server, VMO / VMQ.
- Strong troubleshooting skills within the ION environment.
- Experience supporting electronic trading workflows and market connectivity.
- Strong knowledge of: Fixed Income financial products, Bond pricing, Hedging, Reference Data, Straight Through Processing (STP), MarkitWire, SWM / FPML Converter.
- Experience working with Bloomberg TOMS for trade and position management would be advantageous.
- Strong Linux platform experience.
- Intermediate experience with Sybase and TCL scripting.
- Basic knowledge of Transact SQL, Excel and VBA would be beneficial.
- Experience working across project teams and directly with business users.
- Testing experience and familiarity with JIRA would be advantageous.

- £800 - £900 Per Day
- 12-Month Initial Contract
- London (Hybrid Working)
