Description

About Bright Software Group

At Bright, we are powering the digital practice of tomorrow – today.

We deliver products that help accountants, payroll bureaus, and businesses across the UK and Ireland work smarter and win more. Our innovative solutions and outstanding customer experiences enable our customers to run their businesses efficiently and serve their customers brilliantly.

We believe understanding is the difference between working and winning.

The Role

This role sits within Engineering and works day-to-day alongside Customer Success, acting as the technical bridge between the two teams. The Application Technical Support Engineer is the go-to person for customer-reported issues – debugging problems, interrogating data, building internal tooling, and making sure nothing falls between the cracks. It suits someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable moving between technical investigation and non-technical conversation.

You will thrive in this role if you have solid SQL experience, strong problem-solving instincts, and you are energised by a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.

What You'll Do

Technical Support & Investigation

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for Customer Success, translating between customer-facing and engineering teams
  • Debug and replicate customer-reported issues to identify root causes
  • Write SQL statements to pull data and build reports for internal and customer use
  • Document known issues, fixes, and workarounds for the wider team, maintaining thorough and accurate records throughout

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
