We have an exciting opportunity to join our IT team as we embark on a period of transformation in the new role of Applications and Integrations Lead.

The successful candidate would be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex applications and integration solutions for Cotswold Archaeology.

The Applications and Integration Lead will translate business requirements into technical solutions and will rely on their key skills in mapping and implementing customer journeys, effectively managing stakeholders, and managing project priorities with ease.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Be the technical lead in all applications & integration related activities.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to improve processes and ways of working, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and budget.
  • Deliver services and solutions using the MS Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams and other M365 services. This will include but not be limited to creating Canvas and Model-driven apps to improve efficiency and digitise processes.
  • Identify areas and build processes where Power Platform and M365 can be better leveraged to facilitate process improvement and automation.
  • Liaise with and support the Geomatics team in the development and implementation of digital applications e.g. Digital Recording System, GIS, MapBoard.
  • Guide and educate employees on the effective use of SharePoint, MS Teams, Co-Pilot, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Virtual Agent) and other MS365 services.
  • Integrate and manage data sources like Dataverse, SharePoint and SQL.
  • Act as the Technical Authority for any new enterprise-wide applications development (e.g. Dynamics 365), configuration and implementation.
  • Act as 3rd line support for all the company’s business applications.
  • Ensure that all applications, integration, and data solutions are secure, scalable, and highly available.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational support to ensure business continuity.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and leverage innovative integration technologies and platforms.
  • Undertake specific duties commensurate with responsibilities as may be required from time to time to ensure the success of CA.
  • Build APIs and middleware to support data exchange and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring data integrity and performance.

Person Specification

Experience and Skills

  • A proven track record of successful application and integration project implementations.
  • Experience in application & integration architecture and design.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure solutions (Microsoft Azure).
  • Managing 3rd Party suppliers to successful delivery outcomes.
  • Experience of mapping and developing customer journeys to enhance user experience.
  • Previous experience of matrix managing project resources.
  • Good understanding of structured data and SQL.
  • Ability to remain focused and to implement a project to specification, budget, and timescale.
  • Experience of using Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong experience of using Azure Integration services, including Azure API Management.
  • Experience of developing and implementing middleware or API interfaces to enable data exchange between applications.
  • Experience Implementing security best practices in all integration and database activities. This includes controlling access to databases (permissions, credentials), encrypting sensitive data in transit, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR).

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrable hands-on development experience using MS Power Platform.
  • 3+ years’ experience, or equivalent demonstrable experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
  • Hierarchical structured data and SQL programming.
  • Azure Integration services, especially Azure API Management. (desirable)
  • Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse. (desirable)
  • Dynamics 365 (desirable).
