About The Role
We are seeking a talented App Developer to join our dynamic team at Pets at Home. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile application, which is central to our digital engagement strategy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating seamless, accessible, and reliable mobile experiences that delight our users. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire, providing flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Please note, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.

- Proven experience in mobile application development, particularly with React Native.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Redux, React Navigation, and Firebase.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Maestro.
- Solid understanding of mobile development principles, including state management, API integration, and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within an agile team environment.
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable code and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Nice to have skills include experience with Azure or other cloud platforms and familiarity with native mobile technologies for iOS and Android development.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain features within the Pets at Home mobile app using React Native, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Deliver scalable, reliable solutions aligned with best engineering practices and standards.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams in an agile environment to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Own the performance of the app by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance speed, usability, and reliability.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit and end-to-end tests to guarantee robust, high-quality releases.
- Champion accessibility standards and inclusive design principles to make the app accessible to all users.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to continuous improvement of development tools, processes, and workflows.
