What Our Applications Engineers Do
Our Applications Engineers are trusted technical experts who bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world customer challenges.
Depending on experience and career level, responsibilities may include:
- Developing innovative AFM measurement methodologies
- Supporting leading semiconductor fabs and research organisations on solving the most
- Conducting technical demonstrations and proof-of-capability projects
- Optimising recipes, workflows and measurement performance
- Analysing complex nanoscale data and communicating findings
- Solving challenging customer applications problems
- Delivering technical training and consultation
- Supporting product development through customer feedback
- Collaborating with engineering, product management and commercial teams
- Presenting at conferences, workshops and industry events
- Influencing the future direction of semiconductor metrology

Training clarification
All new hires complete an initial training period of approximately 3 weeks at our UK headquarters in Abingdon, with travel and accommodation support provided by the company.

This role may involve some on-site work with complex technical systems. Reasonable adjustment can be made to support candidates who require them to perform the role effectively.
Your recruitment journey:
We will interview you: Monday to Friday UK Time 9am to 4.30pm and we'll be as flexible as we can with Global Scheduling
1st stage: (45 minute) Remote meeting to evaluate your experience and technical ability
2nd stage: (2.5 hours) Face to face onsite or in a REMOTE Group Assessment: evaluating technical, presentation and communication skills along with your ways of working and your opportunity to to know more about us
If you're not comfortable with eye contact, let us know at the start of your interview and if REMOTE where applicable, once we've said hello, feel free to turn your camera off until the end.
Informal is absolutely fine with casual attire for onsite interviews, we want you to feel comfortable when you meet us and if there's anything else we can do to support your journey, just let us know.
