About the Role

Working as part of a collaborative technical team, the Applications Engineer will play a key role in supporting the preparation of system designs, technical proposals, and quotations for Xylem’s wastewater treatment product portfolio. The role is focused on biological treatment systems, including air blowers, aeration diffusers, and mixing technologies.

You will work closely with internal sales teams and external customers, providing technical expertise throughout the sales process while helping drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support technical system designs and quotations for wastewater treatment applications, particularly biological treatment systems.
  • Develop tender submissions and technical proposals in line with customer and project requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Internal Sales Managers and collaborate on follow-up sales activities.
  • Communicate confidently with customers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to support project development and negotiation activities.
  • Support the growth of market share through strong collaboration across sales, marketing, and business development teams.
  • Participate in customer meetings, training activities, and technical presentations where required.
  • Ensure designs and proposals align with technical standards, commercial objectives, and customer expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Process, or related discipline.
  • Experience within wastewater treatment, water technology, or related process industries would be highly desirable.
  • Understanding of biological treatment systems, aeration technologies, blowers, diffusers, or mixing systems is advantageous.
  • Strong technical and commercial awareness with the ability to interpret customer requirements and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and commercial teams.
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
