We have offices globally, but our Head Office/Factory is based in Castle Donington, Derbyshire, where our highly knowledgeable teams are responsible for the design, development, and production of all our Coordinate Measuring Machines against strict industry standards which are manufactured at our Factory in Castle Donington, as we are proud to be a British manufacturer!
Role:
As an Applications Engineer, you will join a busy team and play a pivotal role in helping to deliver a first-class service - undertaking sales demonstrations, and providing valuable customer training and support to our many LK Metrology customers.
Your main duties will include:
- Supporting the Sales team with software and product demonstrations
- Ensuring that the interaction with customers is to a world-class standard
- Training customers to operate, program, and maintain LK products to a high level
- Ensuring training & helpdesk procedures are being adhered to
- Developing new training products to meet current and future business needs
- Adapting and keeping up to date with changes to all hardware/software produced and installed by LK
- Supporting the writing of reference and training manuals
- Keeping the showroom and training equipment to a high standard
- Providing part programming/subcontract inspection services

Location:
Our Application Engineers spend much of their time supporting our customers at their sites around the UK, and sometimes worldwide. You will also spend time at our offices based in Castle Donington.

About you:
Our ideal applicant for the position of Applications Engineer will be able to demonstrate the following as part of their application and interview process:
- Experience of working within a customer-facing, technical support role
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of precision engineering and inspection processes
- Knowledge of CMM programming
- Knowledge in the delivery of technical training to a wide range of audiences
- Experience with Laser Scanning and Reverse Engineering
- Knowledge of CAD Models, GD&T, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification
Experience with CAMIO and/or PolyWorks Software would be advantageous, as would experience with CT scanners and portable metrology devices.
You must also hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel on company business, both UK and worldwide.
