MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct hands-on measurements using roundness, form, surface texture, and alignment instruments at customer sites and in-house.
- Deliver technical demonstrations and measurement guidance across all supported product lines.
- Deliver training at customer sites or remotely on roundness, surface, and alignment products and applications.
- Analyse customer data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to commercial and engineering stakeholders.
- Work closely with R&D, production, sales, and marketing to relay customer needs, application requirements, and usability feedback.
- Create application notes, guides, case studies, and best-practice documentation for roundness, surface, and alignment metrology.
- Support product validation and feature testing by providing application-driven insights from customer environments.
- Build strong customer relationships to understand real-world measurement challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global metrology practices and competitive technologies across roundness, surface, and alignment measurement.
- Provide expert product and application support to assist the sales team with customer engagement and opportunity development.
- Ensure all instruments meet required performance standards through application-focused testing, verification, and troubleshooting.
- Travel regularly (UK and international) to customer facilities for measurements, training, installations, and technical support.

REQUIRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Degree-level knowledge of mechanical engineering, physics, or 3 - 5 years’ experience in precision engineering or metrology applications (roundness, form, surface or alignment preferred).
- Strong practical understanding of form measurement, surface texture analysis, and alignment/metrology workflows.
- Awareness of the global competitive landscape for metrology solutions.
- Excellent communication skills across customers, sales teams, engineering, and management.
- Strong presentation, training, and technical writing skills.
- Confident performing measurements independently at customer facilities.
- Experience in applications engineering, technical support, or field-based metrology roles.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (typically 20–40% depending on customer requirements).
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Advantageous: usability insights, electronics, software interaction, and cross-functional project support.

DEGREE / CERTIFICATION
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similar technical discipline.
