Innovex is seeking an Applications Engineer – Well Construction to join our team in Dyce, Aberdeen on a permanent basis. This role is responsible for reviewing customer requests, evaluating well and operational requirements, recommending appropriate downhole tool solutions, and preparing the relevant technical proposals. The role operates in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborates closely with the regional Customer Service & Tender team, Sales & Operations, and the Well Construction Engineering department to deliver high-quality commercial and technical proposals to customers in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer RFQs, tender documents, well programs, and technical specifications to determine project requirements and propose appropriate products and equipment.
  • Analyse well design, casing programs, directional profiles, downhole parameters, and operational objectives and recommend fit-for-purpose well construction solutions, including float equipment, centralization solutions, stage cementing tools, liner hanger systems and accessories, drilling & deployment enhancement tools.
  • Prepare detailed technical proposals, including equipment specifications, relevant modelling, operating procedures, technical justifications, and deviations from customer specifications where applicable.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during customer presentations and technical review meetings.
  • Provide the operations team with pre-job analysis & simulations, on-job support & troubleshooting and post-run performance evaluation & case studies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of well construction operations, casing design, cementing, liner systems, and general downhole tool applications.
  • Understanding of well construction equipment design and manufacturing.
  • Experience preparing technical proposals, reviewing customer specifications, and supporting tender submissions.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with torque & drag, hydraulics and stand-off calculations and modelling is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with international customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Committed to continuous learning and development.
