About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to join a global industrial technology business based in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a prominent organization that operates across electrical distribution, communications, networking, and technical services. As an Applications Engineer, you will serve as a vital link between customers, consultants, and the sales team, providing technical expertise to develop feasible solutions for major data centre projects across the UK and Europe. The position involves working on high-density cooling systems, electrical distribution, and mechanical infrastructure, with extensive opportunities for professional growth and international travel. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with practical experience in cooling systems, heat exchangers, and high-density data centre environments. Basic electrical knowledge is essential to support solutions related to electrical distribution and power management. Candidates should demonstrate confidence when engaging with customers and consultants, providing clear technical support and guidance. A good understanding of data centre environments, particularly high-density cooling solutions, is highly desirable. Willingness to travel internationally within the EMEA region is required, along with the ability to live within a reasonable commute to London. Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering, along with any professional certifications related to data centre infrastructure, will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical liaison between customers, consultants, and sales teams, facilitating the development of tailored solutions for data centre projects.
- Collaborate with mechanical systems teams to design and support cooling solutions, heat exchangers, and other high-density infrastructure components.
- Utilize electrical knowledge to support the design and implementation of electrical distribution systems within data centres.
- Provide technical support directly to customers and consultants, addressing queries and presenting solutions confidently and professionally.
- Participate in international travel across the EMEA region to support project implementation, client meetings, and site visits.
- Engage in manufacturer training programs and pursue recognized data centre qualifications to enhance technical expertise.
- Assist in developing innovative solutions that align with client requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical processes and solutions within the organization.
