About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Applications Specialist to support Malvern Panalytical’s biophysical and nanoparticle characterization technologies, including Microcalorimetry (ITC & DSC), Dynamic and Electrophoretic Light Scattering (Zetasizer Advance), Grating-Coupled Interferometry (Creoptix WAVE), and Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NanoSight Pro).

Our technologies help scientists understand molecular interactions, stability, and nanoparticle behaviour, enabling confident decision-making in life science research.

Working closely with customers, Sales, and internal teams, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality applications support and helping customers achieve success with our solutions.

This is an excellent development opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on science, customer interaction, and continuous learning within a collaborative technical environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver instrument demonstrations, pre-sales sample analysis, and proof-of-concept measurements
  • Provide customer training, applications support, and troubleshooting across ITC/DSC, Zetasizer Advance, Creoptix WAVE, and NanoSight Pro
  • Perform laboratory measurements in accordance with SOPs and contribute to method development as your experience grows
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Customer Support, Marketing, and the global Applications community
  • Generate application data and insights to support documentation, training materials, and marketing activities

About you:

  • A customer-focused mindset and enthusiasm for helping scientists solve technical challenges
  • A degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline (PhD welcome but not required)
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, ideally involving proteins, biomolecules, or nanoparticles.
  • Interest in biophysical and nanoparticle characterization techniques, with a desire to develop expertise across multiple platforms
  • Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ITC, DSC, GCI/SPR, NTA, Zetasizer, or related analytical techniques is desirable
  • Experience delivering customer support, demonstrations, or technical training would be advantageous
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to problem solving
