Currently we are looking for candidates for the position of Applications Specialist for cooling water & reverse osmosis and membrane treatment with special focus on biocides.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the European sales organization through technical field support, business growth initiatives, customer problem resolution, and account retention activities.
- Provide technical expertise during customer visits, surveys, audits, and troubleshooting of cooling water and RO membrane systems.
- Contribute to customer proposals and tenders by preparing technical recommendations, system assessments, and delivering customer presentations.
- Develop optimization programs and technical reports focused on improving system performance, reliability, water efficiency, and sustainability.
- Deliver technical training and knowledge-sharing programs for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Support new product introductions (NPI), technology deployment, field validation, and collaboration with R&D teams.
- Develop case histories, value advantage projects, and sustainability assessments to demonstrate customer value creation.
- Maintain and enhance technical documentation, application guidelines, digital tools, and SharePoint resources.
- Support digital monitoring, automation, and data-driven optimization solutions for cooling water and membrane applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and Product Management.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory developments, and competitive activities within industrial water treatment.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Europe (approximately 50-70%).

The Individual - Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Technology, or related field
- Significant experience in industrial water treatment, with a strong focus on cooling water systems, boiler water, reverse osmosis (RO) / membrane applications
- Demonstrated expertise in cooling water chemistry, scale and corrosion control, microbiological control, and system optimization
- Strong knowledge of RO membrane systems, pretreatment technologies (filtration, UF, antiscalants), membrane performance, fouling mechanisms, cleaning procedures, and troubleshooting
- Experience in cooperation with engineering firms, OEMs, EPC contractors and knowledge of relevant water treatment regulations and industry standards is favorable
- Strong understanding of water treatment chemicals, including antiscalants, dispersants, corrosion inhibitors, biocides, cleaners, and specialty membrane treatment products - expert knowledge about biocide and National / European biocide regulations is a plus
- Ability to communicate customer value creation through technical, economic, operational, and sustainability benefits
- Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, and technical consulting skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, technical, regulatory, and marketing teams
- Resilient, flexible, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage
- Previous experience in technical sales, application engineering, or field service within industrial water treatment preferred
- Experience conducting system surveys, performance audits, troubleshooting investigations, and customer training programs
- Knowledge of digital monitoring solutions, water analytics, and performance reporting tools is a plus
