Applications Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Applications Team Lead. This will be a key role in leading a full-stack engineering team responsible for delivering and enhancing key HELIX GenOne applications, including Infinity and Analytics. Acting as the Technical Product Owner, you will drive product development, provide technical leadership, solve complex challenges, and support the growth and development of your team while ensuring solutions align with business objectives.

We see this role as being full time, although this is negotiable. Ideally, we would like this role to be based in Edinburgh/Dundee, on a hybrid basis to allow for regular interaction with the wider business and colleagues in other departments.

Why Bright Ascension?

We are a fast-growing, innovative company changing the way that software is developed in the space industry. With customers across the world, ranging from universities and space agencies, to commercial organisations and start-ups, our core technologies enable our customers to develop and operate space-based systems and services faster, more cost effectively, and more reliably.

Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and it is our team that drives that innovation. We are committed to creating a culture where every individual has the opportunity to make an impact and help shape our future success. With offices in Dundee, Edinburgh, and Bristol, we now have more than 50 members of staff and plans to expand significantly over the next 12 months. We are at a very exciting time in our ambitious growth plans and have fantastic opportunities for talented individuals to join our team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
