Title: Applied AI Engineer
Time: Full-Time (UK Hours)
Location: Remote (UK or Europe - preference for London, Spain, Portugal, Poland)
Compensation: $100K - $150K USD + Competitive Equity
The Company
Our client is a rapidly scaling property technology leader and one of the UK's ten largest lettings operators, having raised over $260M in total funding. Operating as an AI-first property management platform, the company grows by acquiring and integrating traditional letting agencies. They leverage AI to streamline the entire letting lifecycle, from tenant finding to rent collection and finance automation.
Role Overview
As an Applied AI Engineer, you will serve as an early core team member within a 20-person engineering organization, playing a pivotal role in scaling the company's core AI engine. You will unify existing AI flows, build a robust evaluation layer, and scale agentic infrastructure to support rapid growth and ongoing acquisitions. This position offers significant influence over architectural patterns and the autonomy to drive key technical initiatives across product teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale production-grade agentic systems, including task decomposition, subagent orchestration, tool usage, and structured outputs.
- Establish robust evaluation frameworks, telemetry, and feedback loops to optimize system latency, cost, reliability, and hallucination rates.
- Unify and modernize existing backend and AI workflows using TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Scale the underlying agentic infrastructure to seamlessly integrate data and operations from newly acquired letting agencies.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to establish architectural standards and deploy reliable AI-driven features across tenant discovery, property management, and finance.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend development skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining agentic or AI systems in production environments.
- Hands-on expertise with LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, structured outputs, and evaluation methodologies.
- Strong technical background with TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and optimize production AI systems for latency, cost, and reliability.
- Startup or AI-native company experience building hands-on systems preferred.
