Swim England South East Limited
Swim England South East Limited is the regional governing body responsible for the strategic development, governance and delivery of aquatic sports across the South East of England.
We are seeking to appoint up to three additional skills-based Directors
We are specifically looking for individuals who have experience in the following areas:
- Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Safeguarding / Welfare
- Finance, Audit & Risk
- Communication & Engagement
These are voluntary, non-executive roles.
Purpose of the Role
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will contribute to the strategic leadership, governance and oversight of Swim England South East. Directors are responsible for:

- Contributing to the strategic direction of Swim England in the South East Region.
- Supporting effective governance, decision-making and regional planning.
- Ensuring effective management of the organisation in line with its objects, legal obligations and strategy.
- Championing the needs of clubs, members, volunteers and participants.
- Helping to promote safe, inclusive and accessible aquatic activity.
- Bringing fresh ideas, constructive challenge and collaborative leadership to Board discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and delivery of regional strategy and plans
- Ensure compliance with governance, legal and regulatory frameworks
- Attend and contribute to Board meetings (approximately six per year)
- Participate in decision-making and uphold collective responsibility
- Oversee organisational performance and financial stewardship
- Support the work of committees and delegated work
- Promote the interests of aquatics across the region

Duties of an Individual Director
- Act in the best interests of the Company
- Declare conflicts of interest
- Maintain confidentiality
- Comply with policies and legal obligations
- Attend a minimum of three Regional Board meetings
- To lead and serve where requested on regional sub groups and committees
- To work in partnership with regional staff members and volunteers
