RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaising with the site lead to ensure lifting operations are adequately planned accounting for all environmental factors

Liaising with the supply chain to ensure all lifting operations are adequately planned and the required supervision is in place

Liaising with teams to advise and contribute to lifting solutions

Experience in planning and implementation of Lifting Operations

Right to Work & Security Checks
Understandably given the nature of our business, everyone who is employed at Costain must undergo thorough referencing checks. We will need different information depending on the job we have offered you. For all roles, we'll carry out a criminal record check and we’ll ask to see evidence that you have the legal right to work in the UK.
For some of our roles, you may be required to obtain and maintain security clearance of at least Security Check level (or SC clearance). To satisfy the requirements, you will need to have been a legal UK resident for a minimum of 5 years and have successfully complete all stages of the vetting process.
Essentials
- CPCS Appointed Persons: Lifting Operations A61 or NPORS Appointed Person (N401).
- Valid CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Managers and Professionals
- Strong understanding of British Standard BS 7121 and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
- A minimum of 10 Years experience in multiple different types of crane operations, slinging and lifting supervision
- Hold a Level 5 NVQ/VQ in Lifting Operations (Appointed Person)
Desirables
- Competent in the use of lift planning software e.g. AutoCAD, LICCON
- Previous experience working in lifting assurance / lifting management role
- Previous experience working within the nuclear sector
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
