An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Records Appointment Coordinator to join our busy team.
The Health Records Department provides multi-hospital/multi-section comprehensive 24-hour Health Records Service across Fife incorporating Clinical Coding, Information Management, Inpatient Services, Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, Records Libraries, Scanning, Subject Access Requests, Outpatients, Waiting Times, Overseas Visitor Status, and NHS Fife Switchboard.
We are seeking two full-time Appointment Coordinators to provide a comprehensive administrative service, ensuring patients are appointed within national and local targets while adhering to the Scottish Government Waiting Times Standard, New Ways guidance, and NHS Fife Patient Access Policy.
The successful candidates will be responsible for managing patient appointments efficiently and accurately within a busy outpatient environment, ensuring waiting time targets are met and patients receive timely access to care.
You will be required to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, prioritising workloads effectively while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Candidates should be educated to Standard Grade (or equivalent). You must also have good keyboard/typing skills with the ability to work on your own initiative. You must have a knowledge of the Patient pathway, 18-week RTT and New Ways. Good organisational & listening skills are essential as well as a flexible approach to working. A good level of English language competency and good communication skills necessary to perform this role safely and effectively are required.

Relevant Outpatient Health records experience is essential as is the ability to prioritise and deal with the day-to-day workload in a busy mentally challenging environment. Flexible working hours and a good understanding of waiting times and appointment systems is required. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Previous Admin/Clerical experience preferably in a Health Records department is desirable. A knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality is preferred.
