Part-Time Appointment Setter (B2B, Remote but with a meet-up once a month, 12-25 hours a week)

Miss the buzz of booking a great meeting, but need work that fits around the rest of your life?

Tiger Computing is a small, specialist Linux company that does brilliant work once it gets in front of the right people. Your job is to open those doors.

You'll find the right companies, pick up the phone, start real conversations and book meetings for Shaun, our Business Development Manager. He takes it from there. No closing, no technical knowledge needed, and hours that work around you.

We're hiring one or two people, from 12 hours a week (Tuesday to Thursday, 10am to 2.30pm) up to around 25 hours across 4-5 days per week for the right person.

What you'll earn

  • £16 to £20 an hour, depending on experience
  • £100 for every qualified meeting that goes ahead
  • Another £100 when that company becomes a client
  • One qualified meeting a week adds around £400 a month to your hourly pay

Your week

  • Research companies that fit Tiger's ideal client - mostly larger, high-tech organisations running Linux, from bioscience to chip design
  • Get in touch by phone first, then email and LinkedIn, aiming to reach two people at each company - often someone technical and someone in finance or leadership
  • Have a genuine conversation, check there's a real need, and book the meeting for Shaun
  • Keep your notes in Pipedrive, our CRM, so nothing gets lost

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

On 12 hours, that's around 15 new companies and one qualified meeting a week. This is about quality conversations, not a call centre.

How you'll get up to speed

  • Week 1: in-person onboarding with Shaun - Tiger's story, who we help, what a good meeting looks like, Pipedrive, and listening in on real calls
  • Weeks 2 to 4: you start your outreach, with regular feedback and coaching from Shaun
  • From month 2: you run your own week, with weekly catch-ups and support whenever you need it

You'll be great at this if

  • You've done outbound calling, appointment setting, lead generation or sales before
  • You like picking up the phone, and a "no" doesn't stop you making the next call
  • You're organised and get on with things without being chased
  • You write a clear, friendly email
  • You want your working hours to be focused on one company

You might have had a job title like

  • Appointment Setter, Lead Generation Executive or Telemarketing Executive
  • Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR)
  • Telesales, Inside Sales or Business Development Executive
  • Account Executive or Account Manager, in a role where you opened new business

Or you might have built the same skills somewhere else - in recruitment, estate agency, advertising, events or membership sales - anywhere you picked up the phone to people who weren't expecting your call. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you, even if it was a few years ago.

You don't need to know anything about Linux. If a prospect asks something technical, that's your reason to book the meeting.

What's on offer

  • Flexible hours, from 12 to 25 a week, built around school, caring or whatever else matters to you
  • Fully remote, with a Tiger laptop and phone set-up provided
  • Get-togethers with the team every few months (so you'll need to be within about two hours of Gloucestershire)
  • A 6-month pilot, with room to grow your hours as results come in
  • A small team where every meeting you book makes a visible difference

About Tiger Computing

Since 2002, Tiger has done one thing: designing, building and supporting Linux systems for high-tech organisations. It's a small, experienced team of Red Hat certified engineers and Debian developers, certified to ISO 27001, with clients from bioscience to chip design. They take pride in doing things properly, doing what they say they'll do, and treating people like adults.

How to apply

Apply with your CV. Helen at HFBAC is running this search for Tiger. If your application looks like a fit, we'll send you a link to record a 60-second video (an easy question, nothing to prepare) and write a short email. After that there's a video chat with Helen, a phone call with Shaun, then a face-to-face meeting with Shaun and Keith, Tiger's founder.

We'll get back to everyone who applies.
