Apprentice Administrator (Level 3)
Start your career. Build skills that last.
This is more than an opportunity to gain a qualification. It is a chance to start a professional career in administration while learning on the job, building confidence and taking on real responsibility from day one.
As an Apprentice Administrator, you will support our RESTART team and help keep a busy, people-focused office running smoothly. You will welcome clients, answer calls, organise appointments, maintain accurate records and support colleagues with essential administration, while completing your Level 3 apprenticeship learning alongside the role.
You do not need previous office experience. We are looking for potential, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn.
Before you apply: the essentials
To be considered, your CV and application must clearly demonstrate:
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 9-4 (Grade C equivalent) or above.
- A genuine interest in building a career in administration, business support or customer service, and commitment to completing the Level 3 apprenticeship.
- Clear, polite communication and confidence speaking with people face to face or by telephone.
- Basic digital skills, including using computers, email and Microsoft Office or similar applications.
- Evidence of reliability and commitment through education, employment, volunteering, caring responsibilities, clubs or other activities.
- Evidence of completing tasks, coursework, projects, responsibilities or agreed objectives.
- Good attention to detail, organisation and the ability to follow instructions and agreed processes.
- Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback and keep developing your skills.
Previous administration or office experience is not required. We are interested in what you can learn as well as what you can already do.
Useful, But Not Essential
- Customer service or experience dealing with members of the public.
- Experience organising appointments, activities, records or information.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook or similar digital tools.
The real job
You will often be the first person a client speaks to and the first face they see when they arrive. You will welcome visitors, answer incoming calls, respond to straightforward enquiries and make sure people reach the right colleague.
Alongside reception, you will support RESTART Advisers with appointment booking, diaries, outbound client calls, scanning, filing, correspondence and accurate record keeping. Once trained, you may also provide basic Information, Advice and Guidance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Learn, develop and build your career
An apprenticeship gives you something different from simply studying for a qualification. You will learn while doing meaningful work, with opportunities to put new skills into practice straight away.
You will develop experience in administration, customer service, communication, digital systems, diary management and professional working. You will learn how a structured service operates and build examples of real responsibilities and achievements that can strengthen your future career.
There will be plenty to learn. We do not expect you to arrive knowing everything. We do expect you to be curious, dependable, open to feedback and willing to take increasing ownership as your skills develop.
What Success Looks Like
- Clients receive a welcoming, professional service.
- Appointments and records are accurate, agreed actions are completed and colleagues can rely on your support.
- You make progress with your apprenticeship, learn from feedback and become increasingly confident and capable in your role.
The working reality
This is a busy, client-facing office where priorities can change during the day. You will balance visitors, telephone calls, appointments, administration and apprenticeship learning. Being punctual, organised and willing to ask for help when you are unsure will be important.
