Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Apprentice Beauty Therapist, no two days will be exactly the same! You’ll work alongside our experienced beauty team, gaining valuable hands-on experience while developing your skills and working towards your recognised beauty qualification.
Your day-to-day duties could include:
- Welcoming clients and providing a warm, friendly and professional service
- Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they are clean, tidy and fully stocked
- Assisting with a range of beauty treatments, gradually developing your confidence and skills
- Learning to provide treatments such as manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing and other treatments as your training progresses
- Carrying out consultations and learning how to understand clients’ individual needs
- Advising clients on suitable treatments and aftercare products
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and health and safety
- Supporting the team with reception duties, appointments and general salon tasks
- Taking part in training, completing coursework and building your practical skills both in the workplace and through your apprenticeship training
You’ll be supported throughout your apprenticeship by experienced colleagues who will help you build your confidence, develop your technical skills and become a professional beauty therapist. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, friendly, creative and passionate about making people feel good about themselves.

Provide waxing services: Consult, plan, prepare and perform waxing services to remove unwanted hair on clients from the legs, underarms, face and bikini line
Provide hand and nail treatments: Consult, plan, prepare and perform hand and nail treatments on clients
Provide foot treatments: Consult, plan, prepare and perform foot and nail treatments on clients
Provide facial treatments: Consult, plan, prepare and perform facial skin care treatments, use facial products and equipment, and improve and maintain skin condition on clients
Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments: Consult, plan, prepare and perform enhancements to the appearance of the eyebrows and lashes on clients
Provide make-up application: Consult, plan, prepare and perform make-up services on clients
Provide basic massage treatments: Consult, plan, prepare and perform manual back, neck and shoulder massage treatments on clients
Training schedule
Alongside the apprenticeship training via Cambridge Regional College and qualification, we will provide a range of additional in-house training and development opportunities to help the apprentice build confidence and become a well-rounded beauty professional.
Training may include:
- Salon induction and professional standards, including customer service, communication and professional conduct
- Health, safety and hygiene training, including safe working practices and maintaining high salon standards
- Product and treatment training to develop knowledge and confidence in the products and services we offer
- Practical demonstrations and supervised treatment practice, with ongoing feedback and support from experienced therapists
- Retail and product knowledge, including how to confidently recommend suitable products and aftercare to clients
- Consultation skills, helping the apprentice understand clients’ needs and provide a personalised service
- Reception and salon management skills, including appointment booking, client records and general salon administration
- Ongoing mentoring and one-to-one support, with regular opportunities to discuss progress, identify areas for development and set goals
- Opportunities to attend supplier demonstrations, workshops and additional training sessions where available

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 3 or D)
- Maths (grade 3 or D)

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, friendly, reliable and passionate about beauty. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, communicating with clients and learning new skills. A positive attitude, willingness to take feedback and commitment to your training are essential. A genuine desire to learn and progress.

is a friendly, welcoming and professional beauty salon located on the High Street in Histon. Established in 2017, the salon has grown from Estelle’s passion for the beauty industry into a thriving business offering a wide range of treatments including nails, brows, lashes, facials, massage, waxing, spray tans and more.
We are passionate about making our clients feel confident, relaxed and cared for, while continually developing our knowledge and skills through ongoing training. We offer a supportive team environment where an apprentice can learn from experienced therapists, gain valuable hands-on experience and build the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in beauty.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you could progress to a fully qualified Beauty Therapist role, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as advanced skincare, nails, waxing or other specialist treatments. With experience, you could progress to Senior Therapist, Salon Manager or eventually consider self-employment and running your own beauty business.
