Are you organised, motivated and ready to gain valuable workplace experience while earning a nationally recognised qualification? If so, a Business Administration Apprenticeship with City of York Council could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Volunteer team, where you'll develop practical skills, build confidence, and gain hands-on experience in a professional working environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced colleagues who will support and guide you throughout your apprenticeship journey. You'll gain a broad understanding of administrative processes while making a real contribution to the work of the team.

At the same time, you'll be studying towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, helping you develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for a successful career.

What We're Looking For

You should have:

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), or
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English.

If you are currently awaiting your results, predicted grades will be accepted at the application stage. However, confirmation of qualifications will be required before any job offer can be made.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level B1: Can exploit a wide range of simple language flexibly to express much of what they want. Can keep going comprehensibly, even though pausing for grammatical land lexical planning and repair is very evident, especially in longer stretches of free production.
