As an apprentice, you will gain extensive experience in a variety of CAD aspects. You will gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
Requirements
- GCSE in: English (grade 4 / A - C)
- GCSE in: Math (grade 4 / A - C)
- Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
- Communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organisation skills
- Excellent Time Keeping
Responsibilities
- Shadow a skilled CAD technician and benefit from their many years of skill and expertise.
- Work towards being able to: Use CAD programmes such as Tekla, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
- Create 3D models of Engineered assemblies.
- Create 2D drawings for use in a production environment.
- Working to strict drawing standards.
- Working in a professional environment.

Benefits
- Wage: £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age.
- Training course: Engineering operative (level 2)
- Hours: Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours, will be discussed at the interview. 37 hours 30 minutes a week.
- Start date: Wednesday 1 July 2026
- Duration: 1 year 7 months
- After this apprenticeship: Progress to level 3, Remain in Employment
Application Process
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
