We have an exciting opportunity for a young individual to join our friendly and innovative team at Marmora Care Home. As an apprentice, you will be fully supported in your role to assist residents with all parts of their daily living, nutrition, mobility, and activities.
Core Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the apprentice. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
- Assist residents in all aspects of their care needs (i.e. physical, spiritual, emotional, etc.). This will include carrying out the resident's personal care, assisting during trips in the community, and with continence care
- Ensure that the home is kept clean, safe, and well-maintained. This will include making residents' beds, laundering clothes, and cleaning and maintaining equipment in the home
- Assist residents with their nutritional and hydration preferences and requirements. This will include food and drink preparation, assisting and monitoring residents during meal times, washing up, and carrying out regular tea trollies throughout the day
- Answer the call bell system and provide assistance as required, and answer the telephone and doorbell accordingly, responding to any queries as required
- Complete all necessary documentation (i.e. food and fluid charts, daily records, and behaviour charts)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working Conditions
Marmora Care Home is a very busy home and there will be times throughout the day where you may be standing for long periods of time.
Due to specialising in Dementia care, residents living at Marmora will sometimes experience behaviours that may be challenging to others. The successful candidate will be fully trained and supported with effective management of this, but this may be daunting in the first instance for someone that has not had any experience of these types of behaviours before.
