L2 Apprentice CNC Machine Operator

Apprentice required. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and will gain skills/knowledge working on CNC machinery at an established local company. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate.

You will be setting up, programming and operating machines, and machining components to specifications.

About the Role

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

The successful candidate will shadow a skilled machine operator, benefiting from their many years of skill and expertise and will work towards being able to (but not limited to):

  • Setting up, programming and operating machines
  • Machining components to customer specifications
  • Working to strict health and safety guidelines
  • Being aware of and working to deadlines.

Other duties will include, keeping the workspace clean and tidy and other ad-hoc duties where required.

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard which includes:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

Learning will take place in the workplace with the need to attend training with NSEGTA.

Qualifications

Desirable qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent in:
    • English (grade A-C / 4)
    • Maths (grade A-C / 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Progression

After this apprenticeship, your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. Find out about potential future pay (opens in new tab).

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into full-time employment following the completion of the apprenticeship and/or another apprenticeship.
