Summary
Do you want to start your career as a dental nurse? If so, GHB Dental Care based in Sheffield has a fantastic opportunity for the correct candidate. Reporting to the manager, day to day duties will include; covering reception, assisting the dentist, working in the sterilisation room, providing outstanding levels of customer service.
Wage: £14,144 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)

Training schedule: Apprenticeship standard-Dental Nurse Level 3 Day release at Charles Clifford Dental Practice at Sheffield
Hours:
- Mon 08:45 to 12:35 and 13:45 to 17:45
- Tues 08:45 to 12:35 and 13:45 to 18:45 (or reduced hours for college)
- Wed 08:15 to 12:35 and 13:45 to 17:45
- Thurs 08:15 to 12:35 and 13:45 to 17:45
- Fri 08:45 to 12:35 and 13:45 to 17:30
34 hours a week

What you'll do at work
Your role will include assisting the dentist in the surgery, working in the sterilisation room and the reception desk. You will during a normal week work in all these areas of the practice however your main role will be that of assisting the dentist in the dental surgery, with clinical situations and dealing with and communicating with patients.
Whilst working in the surgery you will assist with treatments and will need to use the computer to assist with recording information. You would need to take responsibility for ensuring the cleanliness of your surgery and the readiness of instruments and materials for the dentist to use.
In the sterilisation room you would be responsible for ensuring that all equipment passes through the correct process ready for reuse. As communication with staff and patients is an essential part of working in the dental practice you would need to be a team player who is prepared to work efficiently and logically to achieve the necessary tasks each day.

- GCSE in: Dual Science (grade A*-C or 9-4)
- English (grade A*-C or 9-4)
- Maths (grade A*-C or 9-4)
