About the Role
Start a rewarding career in healthcare while developing valuable customer service skills. Riverdale Healthcare is looking for a motivated Apprentice Dental Receptionist to join the team. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, supporting the smooth running of the practice and helping deliver an excellent patient experience.
Wage
- £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Training Course
- Customer service practitioner (level 2)
Hours
- Monday: 8.45am to 5.15pm
- Tuesday: 8.00am to 7.15pm
- Wednesday: 8.00am to 5.15pm
- Thursday: 8.00 to 5.15pm
- 40 hours a week

What you'll do at work
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional dental practice while studying for your Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship.
As the first point of contact for patients, the Dental Receptionist plays a key role in shaping the patient experience and ensuring the practice runs efficiently.
You will develop strong communication, organisation, and customer service skills while supporting both patients and the dental team.
Key duties may include:
- Greeting patients warmly in person and over the telephone, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression
- Managing appointment bookings, amendments, and cancellations using the practice management system
- Communicating clearly with patients regarding waiting times and upcoming appointments
- Ensuring patients are welcomed and checked in efficiently upon arrival
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records on the electronic patient database
- Responding to emails and telephone enquiries promptly and professionally
- Booking follow-up appointments and managing recall systems for routine check-ups
- Contacting patients ahead of appointments with courtesy reminders
- Supporting the practice team to ensure appointment schedules remain efficient and full
- Processing payments and supporting administrative tasks within reception
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception and waiting area
- Ensuring all required documentation such as treatment plans, medical histories, and forms are completed correctly
- Supporting the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
- Building positive working relationships with dentists, nurses, and practice staff

- GCSE in:
