Role Description
The Apprentice Electrician role at Lödige Industries is a full-time, on-site position based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. In this role, the apprentice will support qualified electricians with the installation, wiring, and commissioning of lifting and logistics systems. Day-to-day activities include assisting with routine maintenance, performing basic repairs under supervision, and learning to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics. The apprentice will help with troubleshooting electrical faults, testing system performance, and documenting work performed in line with company standards and safety procedures. The role also involves participating in training sessions, following health and safety regulations, and collaborating with engineers, technicians, and service teams on customer projects.

- Strong foundation in basic electricity concepts, including electrical safety and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Practical aptitude for electrical work, such as wiring, installation, and supporting assembly of lifting and conveyor systems.
- Ability to assist with maintenance and repair tasks, including inspections, component replacement, and preventive servicing.
- Interest in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues, with a willingness to learn systematic fault-finding methods.
- Motivation to develop knowledge in electrical engineering principles relevant to industrial automation and logistics systems.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions and safety guidelines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to undertake formal apprenticeship training; completion of secondary education with strong math and science subjects is an advantage.
