Foundation Apprenticeship in Healthcare Support Worker
Foundation apprenticeships are introductory courses that help young people get started in an industry. You do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience to apply.
Eligibility
- Anyone between 16 and 21 can start a foundation apprenticeship.
- If you're between 22 and 24, you can start if you:
- Have an EHC plan
- Are in care or have been in care
- Are in prison or have been in prison
About the Role
An ideal opportunity which helps candidates to build their future career in healthcare through an apprenticeship program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring patients
- Performing basic health checks
- Making patients feel comfortable
Wage
- £15,600 to £24,784.50, depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage
Training
- Course: Health and social care foundation apprenticeship (level 2)
- Hours: Monday - Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm, 37 hours 30 minutes a week

Work Responsibilities
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

- Supporting and helping service users
- Supporting service users with their issues
- Supporting service users on the journey back to full health
- Socialising
- Medicine management
- Meal plan and shop
- Goals and aspirations

Training Details
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Training Provider: THE TRAINING PLACE OF EXCELLENCE LIMITED
Training Course: Health and social care foundation apprenticeship (level 2)
Training Schedule:
- Location: The Training Place of Excellence, 2-4 Canterbury Street, Gillingham, ME7 5TX
- Classes are held one day a week.
Qualification: Healthcare Support worker Apprenticeship Level 2 qualification
