Summary
Carry out HR administration and provide support across Recruitment, Learning & Development, and Manager Support activities. Assist with onboarding, employee records, training coordination, recruitment processes, and general HR enquiries, helping to ensure a smooth and efficient employee experience throughout the business.
Wage: £26,298 a year
Training course: HR support (level 3)
Hours: Full-time, 9:00am-5:00pm. Unpaid 30 minute lunch break. 37 hours 30 minutes a week
Start date: Tuesday 1 December 2026
Duration: 2 years

What you'll do at work
About the Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive HR Administrator to support recruitment, learning and development, and general HR administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in attracting and onboarding new colleagues, maintaining accurate employee records, supporting training activities, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. This is primarily an office-based role, with some remote working required, so candidates should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team. The role offers a varied workload and an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience across multiple areas of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Create and advertise vacancies across relevant platforms
- Manage recruitment systems and candidate workflows
- Issue offers of employment and coordinate onboarding activities
- Arrange and process pre-employment checks, including DBS checks, right to work verification, reference checks, ID and address checks
- Review employment history and investigate gaps in employment
- Ensure all required documentation is obtained and compliant
- Set up new starters on relevant systems
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation within HR systems
- Process colleague data in line with legislative, regulatory and company requirements
- Support the maintenance of recruitment and HR databases
- Complete annual compliance checks, including DBS updates and wellbeing reviews
- Support managers with day-to-day administrative tasks and HR-related queries
Learning & Development
- Coordinate and book training and development courses
- Support training logistics and planning activities
- Maintain learning and development records to ensure compliance
General Duties
- Monitor and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Support recruitment marketing and social media activity where required
- Identify and escalate concerns relating to references, compliance checks or documentation discrepancies
- Undertake any other administrative or HR duties as required

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Service Delivery: Delivers excellent customer service on a range of HR queries and requirements, providing solutions, advice and support primarily to managers. Builds managers’ expertise in HR matters, improving their ability to handle repeated situations themselves where appropriate. Uses agreed systems and processes to deliver service to customers. Takes the initiative to meet agreed individual and team KPIs in line with company policy, values, standards. Plans and organises their work, often without direct supervision, to meet commitments and KPIs.
- Problem Solving: Uses sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes before developing HR solutions. Takes ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
- Communication & Interpersonal: Deals effectively with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills and communicating well through a range of media eg phone, face to face, email, internet. Adapts their style to their audience. Builds trust and sound relationships with customers. Handles conflict and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially.
- Teamwork: Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within the team and HR to achieve results. Builds/maintains strong working relationships with others in the team and across HR where necessary.
- Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve HR performance and service; acts on them within the authority of their role. Supports implementation of HR changes/projects with the business.
- Managing HR Information: Maintains required HR records as part of services delivered. Prepares reports and management information from HR data, with interpretation as required.
- Personal Development: Keeps up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy/process changes relevant to their role. Seeks feedback and acts on it to improve their performance and overall capability.
