Branches across the Midlands, North East, North West, Sheffield, South Wales, South East, South West, and Central London support a locally based workforce. D-Drill invests heavily in in-house training, with over 45% of team members progressing through its apprenticeship program. Health and Safety, environmental responsibility, and delivering projects on time and within budget are central to its operations.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Apprentice role based in the United Kingdom. The apprentice will support experienced drillers and sawing operatives on construction and infrastructure projects, helping to set up, operate, and maintain specialist drilling and sawing equipment.

Day-to-day tasks include:

- Assisting with site preparation
- Handling tools and materials
- Following method statements and risk assessments
- Keeping work areas safe and tidy
The role involves learning to use low impact, environmentally friendly equipment in line with company and industry standards, while observing all Health and Safety procedures. The apprentice will participate in structured training, shadow senior team members, complete required certifications, and gradually take on more responsibility as skills develop.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and maintain attention to detail in a construction or engineering environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to use and maintain drilling and sawing equipment.
- Reliable timekeeping, strong work ethic, and readiness to work on-site in varying weather and site conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
- Commitment to Health and Safety practices and environmentally responsible methods of work.
- Willingness to undertake in-house training and industry-recognized qualifications (e.g., CSCS card and relevant safety courses).
- Basic numeracy and literacy; previous experience or interest in construction, civil engineering, or trades is beneficial.
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom; a driving license is an advantage for travel between sites.
