Whether you're stepping into your first job or looking to change your career, our apprenticeships are your ticket to learning, earning, and achieving. With us, you'll gain nationally recognised qualifications, real-world experience, and a competitive salary – all while being part of a company that truly cares about its people and the planet.

We're proud to be one of the Top 100 Apprentice Employers in the UK and a leader in creating inclusive workplaces where everyone can shine. Together, we're shaping brighter futures – for you, for our communities, and for our world.

What You'll Be Doing

At Mitie, we're proud to work in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH), delivering the engineering and facilities services that help keep vital healthcare environments running safely and efficiently. From community hospitals and health centres to specialist healthcare facilities, our teams play an important role in supporting frontline healthcare professionals to provide outstanding patient care.

As an Apprentice Building Services Engineer, you'll join our CLCH engineering team and learn how to maintain the buildings and systems that healthcare environments depend on every day. Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you'll gain practical, hands-on experience while developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed for a successful career in building services engineering.

No two days will be the same. Throughout your apprenticeship you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Support the maintenance, inspection and repair of a wide range of building services systems, helping to keep healthcare facilities safe, compliant and fully operational.
  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance activities, learning how engineers proactively identify issues and maintain critical equipment before faults occur.
  • Work alongside qualified engineers to diagnose and resolve reactive maintenance issues, helping to restore services quickly and minimise disruption.
  • Gain experience working with building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), water systems, lighting, power distribution, and associated plant equipment.
  • Learn how to use digital maintenance systems to log completed work, record asset information, and track maintenance schedules.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, and healthcare staff, delivering excellent customer service in a professional healthcare environment.
  • Follow Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) procedures at all times, ensuring safe working practices and supporting Mitie's commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
  • Take part in regular training, mentoring, and development activities designed to support your journey towards becoming a qualified Building Services Engineer.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
