Apprentice Medical Administrator
An opportunity to start a career in healthcare, the Apprentice Medical Administrator will learn the essentials of business administration, patient support, corporate client support and working with clinicians.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Coordinating and providing care and reporting that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and client-centred
- Handling case assignments and referrals, drafting service plans / agreements, review case progress, co-ordinate with other care providers and determine case closure
- Helping clients and employees achieve wellness, autonomy and client satisfaction
- Support and improve multiple care aspects (case co-ordination, client resources, diary / resource management, information governance, etc)
- Help the business communicate effectively with clients, patients, clinicians and the healthcare marketplace
- Develop effective working relations and cooperate with medical teams to deliver continuous improvement in business performance and patient care
- Interact with patients and clients to keep track of their progress, service provision and to ensure satisfaction

What you'll learn
Course contents
Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Training schedule
This is a full-time, office based role in Guildford, Surrey, at Occupational Health Assessment Ltd, Surrey Technology Centre, 40 Occam Road, Guildford. GU2 7YG
One day a week is provided for off-the-job-learning, as well as regular group workshops with Surrey Adult Learning in Woking
Essential qualifications

Other requirements
Aptitude and enthusiasm are as important as experience or qualifications and we welcome applications from any background. Previous work experience is welcome, although not necessary.
An enhanced DBS check must be completed, along with evidence of qualifications and at least two references.
