Are you looking to start a rewarding career in Dental Nursing?

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Apprentice/Trainee Dental Nurse to join our well-established team at Ferndown Dental Practice in Dorset, conveniently located close to Bournemouth and the coast.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys working with people and would like to develop a long-term career within dentistry.

You’ll receive full support and training while gaining valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced clinicians and Dental Nurses.

About Ferndown Dental Practice

Our five-surgery practice offers a friendly and professional environment with spacious, modern surgeries and a range of excellent equipment.

You’ll be joining an experienced and supportive team with a wide range of clinical expertise. We have a stable team and are proud of our supportive culture, with colleagues encouraged to continue developing their skills and knowledge.

Ferndown Dental Practice is centrally located in Ferndown, a large and vibrant town close to Bournemouth and the Dorset coast.

There are excellent local amenities within walking distance, including Tesco, M&S and other shops and cafés, making it easy to grab lunch or run errands during your break.

There are also good public transport links, primarily by bus, and free on-site parking is available for colleagues.

The Role

As an Apprentice OR Trainee Dental Nurse, you’ll learn all aspects of Dental Nursing while gaining practical experience in a busy and supportive dental practice.

You’ll work alongside experienced clinicians and nurses, developing the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to become a qualified Dental Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Learning to provide effective chairside support to clinicians
  • Preparing and maintaining dental surgeries
  • Welcoming and supporting patients throughout their appointments
  • Learning and maintaining excellent infection prevention and control standards
  • Learning decontamination and instrument processing procedures
  • Supporting clinicians with a variety of treatments
  • Helping maintain a smooth and efficient clinical workflow
  • Working closely with clinicians, nurses and the wider practice team
  • Developing your knowledge of dental equipment, instruments and materials
  • Working towards the knowledge and skills required to become a qualified Dental Nurse

As you progress through your training, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility and become increasingly confident in your role.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday: 7:45am-4:15pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
