Summary
MG Party Wall Experts is looking for an Apprentice Property Inspection Assistant to support our residential property inspection work. The role will involve attending properties, carrying out structured inspections, recording property condition and completing associated administration.
- Wage: £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices: Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)
- Training course: Business administrator (level 3)
- Hours: Full-time Monday - Friday 9am-5pm 30 minute unpaid lunch break. 37 hours 30 minutes a week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The apprentice will receive practical on-the-job training and gradually take on greater responsibility as their experience develops.
Main Responsibilities
- Attend residential properties for inspections.
- Record property condition using photographs and notes.
- Follow company inspection procedures and checklists.
- Take basic measurements where required.
- Organise and upload site information.
- Prepare basic inspection records for review.
- Communicate with clients and occupiers.
- Manage appointments and travel between sites.
- Assist with general property administration.
- Follow company health and safety procedures.
Training and Development
Training will cover:
- Property inspections
- Condition recording
- Basic building knowledge
- Photographic reporting
- Customer service
- Property administration; Company systems and procedures
- Health and safety
The apprentice will initially work under close supervision and will gradually progress to carrying out suitable inspections independently.

- Punctuality, initiative, maturity, well-spoken, respectful, hardworking, confident, level-headed, reliable and professional
The candidate should be comfortable dealing with members of the public, entering unfamiliar residential properties and working independently in different locations. They should have good interpersonal skills, remain calm in unfamiliar or challenging situations, use common sense and be confident speaking with homeowners and occupiers from a wide range of backgrounds. They should also be willing to learn, take instruction well and have a positive, practical attitude towards developing within the role.
The aim is for the apprentice to develop into a competent Property Inspection Assistant capable of independently carrying out routine residential inspections to the company's required standard.

What you'll learn
Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:
- write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data.
- Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required. Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks. Exercises proactivity and good judgement.
