VolkerFitzpatrick are building the Didcot Science Bridge section of the Didcot and surrounding areas major infrastructure. Our quantity surveying apprentices will be an integral part of the site operations team, being responsible for the effective and efficient running of the site throughout the delivery of the project.
Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade 4 or above)
- GCSE in Maths (grade 4 or above)
- A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Must live in the local area (defined as any location within Oxfordshire, plus a 10-mile perimeter into bordering counties)

Responsibilities
- Assist the procurement process to maximise profit
- Ensure awareness of roles and responsibilities with reference to VolkerFitzpatrick’s commercial interests
- Effectively and appropriately communicate between members of staff
- Attend regular internal meetings and ensure actions are closed out quickly
- Keep accurate records of subcontractor works
- Assist in the production of backup for monthly commercial reports
- Identify risks and bring them to the attention of your manager
- Promote equal opportunity, inclusion, and diversity
- Assist with archiving in accordance with VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd’s commercial policies
- Develop an understanding of different programme types (weekly, as-built, construction, target, and contract)
- Take responsibility for own safety and the safety of others
- Report any health and safety concerns to your line manager
