Kick-start your career in construction with a Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship. Gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification, developing skills in cost management, procurement, measurement, and project support on real construction projects.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Assist with measuring construction works and preparing cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for projects.
- Support the procurement process by obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, comparing costs, and helping to prepare contracts.
- Monitor project costs and progress, maintain accurate records, and assist in producing financial reports and forecasts.
- Work closely with quantity surveyors, site teams, and clients, attending meetings and helping to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Course contents
- Health and Safety: Apply health and safety issues to all activities.
- Sustainability: Demonstrate application of the principles of sustainability.
- Construction Technology: Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Contracts: Be able to apply different types of contracts to different situations.
- Procurement: Assist in the selection of and negotiation with specialist contractors for a construction project.
- Cost control: Assist in the measurement and costing of construction works during a project.
- Financial reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, cash flow, and cost forecasts for a construction project.
- Administration: Assist in the collection, collation, and storage of relevant data and its analysis.

Training schedule
- The apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in L4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician.
- The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.
- This is a day release programme which means you will attend Lincoln College, one day a week, term-time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

Progression from HND to BSc if you wish to progress Professional Qualification – CIOB To be a Quantity Surveyor with Project Management / Estimating skills.
