  • Subsequent Years: National Minimum Wage for age

Hours

  • Average 40 hours per week, shifts between 6.00am to 12.00 midnight on a rota

Summary

The RAC, in partnership with North Humberside Motor Trades Group Training Association (Motor Trades GTA) have an exciting, unique Apprenticeship Programme for aspiring roadside patrols and mobile mechanics across the country!

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Attend real-life breakdown situations and mobile mechanic services, developing a well-rounded skill set
  • Provide roadside assistance, perform diagnostics, and carry out repairs
  • Complete services, repairs, and diagnostics at customers' homes or workplaces
  • Have access to a fully equipped, state-of-the-art company vehicle and complete toolkit

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training.

Training provider

  • NORTH HUMBERSIDE MOTOR TRADES GROUP TRAINING ASSOCIATION

Training course

  • Autocare technician (level 2)

Training schedule

  • On completion of a comprehensive induction programme, your rota will typically involve working on the roadside for 4 weeks, then you will need to attend Motor Trades GTA College in Hull (HU4 7DY) for 1 week, every 4-5 weeks.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE in English (grade 4 or above or equivalent)
  • GCSE in Maths (grade 4 or above or equivalent)
